It is a county in south-eastern Romania, at the Carpathian Bend, with its seat at Foc\u0219ani, and it gathers into one tight space three landscapes that barely touch: <strong>the Vrancea Mountains<\/strong> in the west, the sub-Carpathian hills in the middle, and <strong>the Siret plain<\/strong> in the east and the south.<\/p>\n<p>The map and the virtual tours show you where the places are. The <strong>Stories of Vrancea<\/strong> section is for everything a map has no room for: the people, the crafts, the farmsteads, the story behind a waterfall or a winery, and the reasons a place is worth stopping at rather than driving past.<\/p>\n<h2>Where we start<\/h2>\n<p>The first stories come from the communes that already have a 360\u00b0 virtual tour on Go2Vrancea:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>C\u00e2mpuri<\/strong> \u2014 in the north-west of the county, with the villages of C\u00e2mpuri, Fete\u0219ti, Gura V\u0103ii, Rotile\u0219tii Mari and Rotile\u0219tii Mici.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soveja<\/strong> \u2014 in the Soveja depression, at the foot of the Vrancea Mountains, with the villages of Dragosloveni and Ruc\u0103reni.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tulnici<\/strong> \u2014 at 512 m above sea level, in the Putna valley, in the heart of the Vrancea Mountains, with the villages of Tulnici, Coza, Gre\u0219u and Lep\u0219a.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ureche\u0219ti<\/strong> \u2014 in the south of the county, first mentioned in writing in the year 1500.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vidra<\/strong> \u2014 at the entrance to the Vrancea depression, known by its symbolic name, \u201cthe Gate of Vrancea\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vizantea-Livezi<\/strong> \u2014 with the villages of Livezile, Mesteac\u0103nu, Piscu Radului, Vizantea M\u0103n\u0103stireasc\u0103 and Vizantea R\u0103z\u0103\u0219easc\u0103.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What comes next<\/h2>\n<p>Every article in this section starts from a real place and from someone keeping it alive: a guesthouse, a smallholding, a trail, a bistro, a winery.
